The hugely popular Korean webtoon with over 2 billion views globally gets its first live-action adaptation.
A student on the bottom of his school’s social hierarchy stands up to the unfairness in the world with an unconventional method: livestreaming his fights!
From the crew behind “Fly me to the Saitama” and “Cells at Work!” comes a youthful story that resonates across generations.
Kota Shimura is an outcast on the bottom rung of the social ladder at his high school. With his severely ill mother in the hospital, he also struggles with poverty. At school, he’s an easy target for bullying by delinquents, and he must endure constant waves of senseless hardships day after day. But one day, he reaches a turning point: he suddenly gets into a fight with a classmate, which is inadvertently livestreamed to the entire world, and he unexpectedly goes viral for his humorously intense fighting style. Realizing that he can make cash through fisticuffs, Kota is persuaded by a classmate’s promise to help him strike it rich and launches a livestreaming channel called Viral Hit. Thus begins his ambitious uprising in pursuit of money.
