Three storylines I will be watching out for in this game are, a month removed from the season, how much growth has Quinn Ewers shown at the quarterback position. After a less than stellar redshirt freshman season, Quinn Ewers has a chance to show that he has taken a very positive step towards being the next great QB at the 40 acres with a positive showing against the Washington Huskies on Thursday. Will Quinn Ewers reach the potential we all know he has and showed at times in the first three games, or will he be the next high profile recruit to flame out in college football? The second storyline I’m most interested in seeing is the RB play without Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson, specifically in Jonathon Brooks. Losing players like Bijan and Roschon are huge losses but based on what Brooks has shown in spot duty gives a lot of Longhorn fans hope that he can carry the torch. Jonathon Brooks has amassed 322 yards and 5 touchdowns on just 45 carries in his Texas career. His combination of downhill running and vision will suit him well in a full time role behind what should be a very good offensive line next season. Last but not least, the Texas defense will have a very tough matchup against the FBS leader in passing yards this season, Michael Penix Jr. for the Washington Huskies. This Texas defense was ranked 89th in passing yards this year, allowing four 300 yard passers on the season. Michael Penix threw for 300 yards in 10 of his 12 games. Iron sharpens iron huh? Hook Em
