2026 College Football power ratings are at the center of this video as I review ESPN’s College Football Power Index.
I break down where I believe ESPN’s FPI is correct, what its power ratings might be missing, and which teams are being significantly overrated and underrated entering the 2026 college football season. USC Football, Michigan Football, Georgia Football, Texas Tech Football, Oregon Football, Indiana Football, and Washington Football all stand out as teams I believe should be ranked higher, while Tennessee Football, Texas A&M Football, and Clemson Football appear to be overvalued in the current projections.
I also explain why I believe ESPN’s FPI has a systematic bias that leaves the Big Ten underrated while consistently inflating SEC teams, and why recruiting rankings may be causing the model to miss where programs actually stand entering 2026. Recruiting rankings matter, but I believe proven coaching, roster development, returning production, and past efficiency metrics deserve more weight than they currently receive. ESPN’s FPI is still damn good at its job by season’s end.
Throughout the episode, I analyze how these power ratings compare with my own evaluations, discuss what they reveal about the 2026 College Football Playoff race, and explain which teams I believe you should buy or sell heading into this season.
