Hailing from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Brackins was part of the 1997 National Championship team and three Big Ten championship teams (1997, 1998, 2000). He was twice named All-Big Ten teams and selected as co-captain for the 2001 season. Post football, Brackins has found his way back to his hometown where he serves as the assistant city manager, directly responsible for overseeing the operational, financial, and fiscal affairs of Pigeon Forge.
