Watching the ball well in tennis is the most difficult skill of all skills in the game of tennis and it also yields the most improvement in your overall game. I’ve been playing tennis for decades and this is how I keep my “watching the ball” skill sharp. I devote the last 5 minutes of every practice session to really focusing on the ball and seeing it clearly after the bounce. I also stay with my head oriented to the contact point long after the ball has left my strings. That way I am slightly exaggerating what I would actually do in real tennis but that’s how we keep the skills sharp.
