Here’s the most recent edition of the Centex 25: For more than two decades, we’ve offered our picks for the top 25 college football prospects in Central Texas.
This isn’t a high-school all-star list or the Super Centex team — rather, the the Centex 25 seeks to rank our area’s top senior football players based on their college football prospects and potential. That means we very much take into account which college programs have presented those players with scholarship offers.
We also look at recruiting rankings, and see where the players fall in those lists. We talk to coaches about their players’ college hopes and plans. Finally, we use our own evaluation of those players, as we’ve watched and covered many of them over the course of this season and previous seasons. Sometimes we’ll bump a kid higher than the recruiting rankings might, just because we think he’s being overlooked.
